HEAT Server issues / Can't forge from version 2.4.0 Windows wallet
« Last post by qrt8noop on January 08, 2018, 07:07:11 AM »
Hi everybody.

I'm new to HEAT, but I've run a few staking wallets over the past year.  I downloaded 2.4.0 today, which has worked fine as a stand-alone wallet and exchange for me.

After downloading Java (version 9.0.1 with JDK included), I can't get the Start Server function to work for mining.  Warnings return that an illegal reflective access operation has occurred.  I get a fatal error that dependent libraries can't be found in the AppData\\Local\\Temp folders.  Then the shutdown hook is triggered.  (screenshot below)

Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

Thanks.

General HEAT Discussion / Need some help
« Last post by Soussk on December 31, 2017, 08:56:18 AM »
Can somebody tell me please if this is okay: after i'm pressing start mining it says "remaining 0, deadline 0, hittime 0". I'm synced by now (pushed block 965***). Also i can see my node in https://heatwallet.com/nodes.cgi. Nothing in https://heatbrowser.com/report.html for around 6+hours (besides my ip in online and nodes sections). I can even see my self in heatnodes.org at the lottery participants section.

General HEAT Discussion / Install script for ubuntu
« Last post by shaglama on December 29, 2017, 09:13:31 AM »
Hi everyone. I've been working on an install script to setup nodes on ubuntu servers or vms, get a hallmark, and start forging. It can be found at:

https://github.com/shaglama/HeatLedgerInstallScript

So far its been pretty useful to me so I figured I would share in case it could help anyone else. Its still a work in progress and has only had very minimal testing on Ubuntu 16.04 so don't be suprised if you encounter a bug or two. If you find any bugs or have some free time and would like to contribute to the effort feel free to hit me up. If you don't have any time to contribute but would still like to be part of the effort donations are appreciated:

General HEAT Discussion / HEATWALLET 2.4.0 | Windows+Linux Desktop edition
« Last post by verymuchso on December 28, 2017, 09:59:10 PM »
HEAT WALLET 2.4.0 | Windows and Linux desktop

This desktop wallet release embeds the 2.4.0 server version which is a mandatory update. If your wallet does not use the built in server (default behavior of the wallet is to connect to a remote API node) you could still use that but you'll lack the client side (UI) improvements.

Note

The virtual order matcher (instant asset exchange order feedback) is still disabled, we are enabling that in the next wallet update. Because of this you have to wait until the next block (30 seconds) to see your balances updated and to see orders matched and trades made.

When the virtual order matcher is enabled we'll update the web based wallet on https://heatwallet.com and put out a new wallet release.

About the HEAT LEDGER 2.4.0 server

This is a hard fork, a mandatory update of the HEAT network. This update fixes a bug introduced in 2.1.0.

The hard fork will take effect at block 956000.

Nodes below 2.4.0 can not be used to forge in the main HEAT chain.

API Information

HEAT SDK

Changes

  • Updated default properties to always perform a scan and validation on every startup.
  • Set remaining balance limit of 0.01 HEAT for ask orders of HEAT due to large number of accidental account drainings and subsequent asset withdrawal incapacity

Mac release will follow.

HEAT Server issues / Re: HEAT API Function Missing
« Last post by warmach on December 27, 2017, 10:03:53 PM »
I am adapting my FIMK pool code so that I am ready once the HEAT leasing goes active.  In updating my code, I found a FIMK API call that was not recreated in the HEAT API.  I have looked for similar functions that accomplish the same goal, but haven't found a new set of function calls that accomplish the same thing as the FIMK API does.

FIMK API Function:  getAccountLessors

This function returns that list of lessors to an account at a specific block height.  This is useful for determining how to divide up the block reward.

As the leasing functionality is yet to be active, this function may still be added to the API.  Can anyone confirm this is being added?

Do we know if/when this API function will be implemented?  I don't see it listed for the 2.4.0 release.

HEAT Server issues / Re: Network status
« Last post by Eliphaz on December 27, 2017, 09:51:03 PM »
Unstable network occasionally shows a small number of forgers. This is remedied with automatic fork resolution, or as in this more serious case, server software update.
